Tom Hardy, who portrays Eddie Brock, has been actively preparing for his role. However, the pre-production process experienced a setback due to an ongoing writers’ strike, which has affected numerous major projects across the United States. This halt in pre-production work has temporarily delayed the progress of Venom 3, along with other projects in the industry.
Venom’s On-Screen History
Venom’s journey on the silver screen has been a mixed bag. The character first appeared in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3, directed by Sam Raimi. Actor Topher Grace portrayed Venom, but the reception was mixed, with some fans feeling that the portrayal didn’t capture the essence of the character as depicted in the comics.
In 2018, Venom received a standalone film of the same name, directed by Ruben Fleischer. Tom Hardy starred as Eddie Brock, providing a more faithful depiction of Venom’s appearance and personality. The film explored the character’s origin story and, despite mixed reviews from critics, proved to be a box office success, laying the foundation for future installments.
