Production of Blood & Water Season 4 on Netflix
June 14, 2023 By AdminNetflix has exciting news for fans of the South African high school drama, Blood & Water! The popular series has officially begun production on Season 4, and soon we will once again hear the familiar words, “Welcome to Parkhurst High!” As always, Puleng and the students of Parkhurst will bring back all the intrigue and find themselves not too far away from trouble in the upcoming season.
To mark this announcement, Netflix SA has released a video on their Twitter account featuring some of the show’s key players, who hilariously fumble through the announcement. Set within the walls of Parkhurst High, the video showcases the two main protagonists, Puleng Khumalo (Ama Qamata) and Fikile Bhele (Khosi Ngema), dressed in high school uniforms. Also appearing in the promotional clip are Fikile’s boyfriend, Sam (Leroy Siyafa), and Tahira Kahn (Mekaila Mathys), the once embattled head girl of this prestigious institution. The arrival of the fourth season of Blood & Water is a significant milestone for original South African content on Netflix, as it surpasses the three-season mark. Currently, only How to Ruin Christmas shares this achievement with three seasons.
The upcoming season will test the bonds of friendship and family among the characters. In Season 3, Puleng was kidnapped and eventually rescued thanks to the joint efforts of her estranged lover, Wade Daniels (Dillon Windvogel), and her cousin, Lunga (Mpho Sibeko). Lunga’s character brought substantive representation for LGBTQ+ individuals in the series. Puleng’s rescue also led to the exposure of corruption within the police force and connections to a child trafficking syndicate run by Lisbeth Molapo (Sonia Mbele). It will be intriguing to see how Puleng and Fikile cope with the loss of their respective fathers and mothers and how it impacts their newly formed sisterhood.
The Class of Season 4
Alongside the production announcement for Season 4, Netflix has released a new class photo featuring both returning and new cast members who will illuminate the halls of Parkhurst. The photo is accompanied by the caption, “New term, new students, new DRAMA!” So, there is no doubt that drama is in store. The photo includes Natasha Thahane, Katishcka Kiara, Arno Greeff, Tumisho Masha, Thabang Molaba, and Meggan Lee Johnstone, along with the aforementioned cast members from the announcement video. Other cast members expected to return for another season include Brian Bhele (Patrick Mofokeng), Thandeka Khumalo (Gail Mabalane), Siya (Odwa Gwanya), Reece (Greteli Fincham), and Headmistress Nicole Daniel (Sandi Schultz), among others.
The production of Blood & Water Season 4 brings excitement and anticipation for fans as they eagerly await the continuation of the captivating storylines and the intriguing lives of the students at Parkhurst High School.
