Moon So Ri and Ra Mi Ran in Talks to Join Historical Drama “Jung Nyeon” alongside Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, and Kim Hieora

On June 14, Star News broke the news that acclaimed actresses Moon So Ri and Ra Mi Ran are in discussions to star in the highly-anticipated drama “Jung Nyeon” (romanized title).

In response to the report, C-JeS Studios, the agency representing both actresses, stated, “Moon So Ri and Ra Mi Ran have received offers to appear in the drama and are currently reviewing them in a positive light.”

Adapted from a popular webtoon of the same name, “Jung Nyeon” is set in the 1950s and follows the life of Yoon Jung Nyeon, a young girl from Mokpo who is born with an extraordinary singing voice but lacks money and education. The historical drama delves into Yoon Jung Nyeon’s journey as she joins a women’s traditional theater company in pursuit of her dreams of attaining wealth.

If their participation is confirmed, Moon So Ri and Ra Mi Ran will take on roles as members of the women’s traditional theater company in the drama.

Last November, it was reported that discussions were underway with Kim Tae Ri for the lead role of Yoon Jung Nyeon. Furthermore, earlier this year, both Shin Ye Eun and Kim Hieora’s agencies confirmed that the actresses are positively considering the offers to star in the drama.

“Jung Nyeon” will be helmed by director Jeong Ji In, known for his work on “The Red Sleeve,” while the script will be penned by screenwriter Choi Hyo Bi, who is currently working on the upcoming Netflix series “A Time Called You.”
