Gerard Butler, Jason Momoa, and Oscar Isaac Team Up for In the Hand of Dante
Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, and Gerard Butler will feature in the forthcoming murder thriller In the Hand of Dante, directed by Academy Award contender Julian Schnabel and produced by legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese. We can explain that In the Hand of Dante will follow the three in the story of the original manuscript for Dante Alighieri’s well-known Italian narrative poem, The Divine Comedy, now that you’ve had enough time to pick up all those names that were just dropped.

You can check out the synopsis for the novel below:

“Via Sicily, the manuscript makes its way from the priest to a mob boss in New York City, where a writer named Nick Tosches is called to authenticate the prize. For this writer, the temptation is too great: he steals the manuscript in a last-chance bid to have it all. As this dark and twisted journey unfolds, so too does a parallel tale: the odyssey of Dante himself, a man trying to weave a poem that contains the sum of the world’s wisdom and the very breath of the divine.”

It has not yet been confirmed which roles Isaac, Momoa, and Butler will play, although it has been claimed that Isaac will play the main character (perhaps Nick Tosches) in place of Johnny Depp, who was previously committed to the movie some years ago.

After receiving an Interim Agreement from SAG-AFTRA, under the Hand of Dante is presently under production in Italy.

Isaac, Momoa & Butler Have Plenty of Exciting Projects in the Pipeline

In addition to collaborating on In the Hand of Dante, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, and Gerard Butler each have numerous interesting projects in the works.

In the upcoming animated sequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, Isaac will reprise his role as Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, which will pick up after the events of the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, following Miles Morales as he attempts to save his father from the Spider-Society and their determination to follow “canon.” There is currently no announced release date for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Meanwhile, Jason Momoa will continue the superhero tradition by reprising his role as Arthur Curry, nicknamed Aquaman, in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is set to be released on December 20, sees Black Manta pursuing vengeance on the King of Atlantis, who is now a father. To battle the supervillain, Aquaman will establish an odd partnership with his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis.

Finally, Gerard Butler will star in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, a sequel to one of his most popular films. The sequel picks up immediately after the events of Den of Thieves, with sheriff Big Nick O’Brien on the trail of Donnie Wilson, who has fled to Europe and is plotting another robbery. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera is set to arrive in late 2024.
