Following an X-Men fan art suggestion, Deadpool 3 director Ryan Reynolds responds to Taylor Swift cameo rumors

From surprising character turns to jaw-dropping visual effects, the electrifying world of superhero movies is no stranger to startling shocks. The possibility of Taylor Swift appearing in Deadpool 3 has contributed to the film’s growing buzz. Is the worldwide music hit getting ready to enter the MCU’s multiverse? As many fans will attest, Deadpool 3 is highly anticipated. The third chapter, directed by Shawn Levy, will witness the return of Ryan Reynolds as the irreverent Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman in the famous yellow Wolverine outfit.

In a new interview with The Wrap, Levy discussed the possibility of including America’s current favorite in the future MCU film. However, as a seasoned secret-keeper, the director was ready to play the “no comment” card. He stated:

“I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

With the multiverse’s narrative possibilities, Deadpool 3 is slated to have more appearances and character returns than any previous Marvel offering. Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra in the film, which is expected to feature a slew of Fox universe characters before the planet is eternally walled off. The speculation about Taylor Swift’s probable role is undoubtedly the loudest.

Swift’s speculated character is none other than Dazzler, for those who are unaware. Dazzler straddles the divide between the musical and superhero worlds as a mutant with the unique power to change sound into various kinds of light energy, a synthesis that might parallel Swift’s own crossing from global popstar to possible MCU actor. Given Swift’s massive success, most recently shown by her massive “The Eras Tour,” the notion of her portraying Dazzler seems all too appropriate.

Though not all of the suspected cast members will appear in Deadpool 3, there are enough signs to imply that some of these rumors are accurate. The director of the picture himself fueled the flames. Levy commented on the circulating rumors, saying:

“The rumors of actors, singers, sports stars who are all apparently in Deadpool 3 are fabulous… I’ll simply say that some of those rumors are true, and some of them aren’t.”

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 3, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
